6.0L turbo on 7.3L ??

Is there anyone who has put the 6.0L variable vane turbo on a 7.3L?? Is there any good reason it can't be done??

There's all this talk about twins and BB turbos, is the 6.0L turbo worth it??

It's crossed my mind a few times about doing it. Just wondering your thoughts.

I beleive VAB has tried it and had decent success. Not sure if its worth the effort when the performance wont be greatly more than the garrett 38r drop in. Maybe Buddy can share his experiences.

ITs a fun project to do. There is preformance gains over your stock turbo, but not going to be any better than a drop in replacement. My brothers truck still has one on it, had it on there for over a year now. It does sound cool with an 03' turbo! IF you feel like putting the time into making up-pips, intake-y, intercooler tubes and doing the electronics its cool to have! It will be different than everyone else thats for sure!

How has it been doing on his truck? Same issues as they have on the 6.0's with the VGT not working or getting stuck? What mods does he have done? Injectors or anything?

Re: 6.0L turbo on 7.3L ??

What would be cool is a way to hack into the electronics and control the 6.0L turbo independently from the MAPS built into the system currently.

That's pretty much the reason I'm asking, because it's something different and I think it would sound cool with the turbo always spooled up.

Would you be able to send me an email about what you all did to go about installing one?
Thanks!

Yeah I bet it would sound pretty cool on a 7.3 and quiet down the low notes coming out of an open exhaust.

There has been no issues on his truck as far as sticking goes. He loves it. He has stage 2 single shots, and a fuel system. Its also intercooled. It is an obs truck. If I can peel him away from his wife and kids, maybe I can get him to send a video or at least take some pics.
