You asked for it Kenny!

Worked on the truck all day yesterday to get it ready to pull. Finished stack, made some clamps and clamped the rear springs, got a hitch, and a few other odds and ends.

I ran the modified class which consists of basically 600+ hp trucks which 98% of are manuals. I pulled 283 feet, beat a few dodges, the other powerstroke and I don't think there were any Dmax's in the modified class (a lot in the stock, but not modified). There were less then 20 in my class... didn't finish in the top 3... don't really know where I finished but I was happy. This was my first pull ever! :)

Next time, now that I know they're going to bump me into a modified class (my turbo is 2.4 and the limit in the stock class is 2.5) I'll be bringing a lil more fuel to the table!

Anyway... here is the pull.... Started in 1st which just pulled right through the brakes (never spooled in 4x4 low b4) and when I shifted to 2nd it was a lil bouncy. Let out of it, corrected, and then hammered down again. Smacked the limiter and started pulling good and the brakes came on!

Is it easier to pull with a auto or manual?

Well some say you have an edge w/ a manual, but I have an auto and it was basically pick the gear and floor it, and then make sure you don't bounce!

Re: You asked for it Kenny!

If your inducer is in fact 2.4 and the class was 2.5, then you should have been able to pull in it. More fuel won't do squat, since your limit is the amount of air you can get into the engine. More fuel my actually hurt it.

Although depending on your 'stock' class a Dmax w/ the right supporting mods would most likey dominate that class. Same with a properly built dodge in the 'Pro' class or whatever they call it.

I've heard that the manual can give you an edge or you can nuke the clutch if you don't get off the line right. Seen both do good though, look at what House's Dually can do!

By the way nice job Marty!

Re: You asked for it Kenny!

I saw the pull in person. Not bad for the first time out! Not much smoke, I suspect the DP switch had a few notches left on her. Truck behaved well and didn't do anything violent. A little more fuel next time and you will easily make up the 20' you needed to be in the competitive pack.
