Does anyone have any dyno comparisons?

I'm looking for dyno comparisons between the grey and black cps. I heard rumor that the black will add more fuel on the top end and the grey has a stonger mid-range. Is there some truth to this or myth? I am curious if anyone has any dyno numbers or track numbers to compare.

isnt the cps just there to make sure the motor is turning, and to send a signal to the tach? thats all i thought it did...but i may be wrong...

Yes, its what tells the computer when to inject the fuel into a certain cyinder at a certain time. But i heard some rumor between the two sensors. Maybe charles or someone can give some input?

Re: Does anyone have any dyno comparisons?

The CPS cannot affect injector on time, or pulse width.

The blue CPS retards injection timing 4degrees compared to the black CPS.

Meaning that if your tuner chose 14deg advance at a particular point in the fuel map, then (if you had the blue CPS) you would actually be running 10 degrees of advance.

Conversely...

If your tuner MADE the tunes ON a truck with a blue CPS...and injection timing was set at 14deg BTDC...then that same program, on the same truck with a black CPS would be running 18 deg advance.

take care~

So there is no difference between the black and grey cps? Those rumors are not true? I wasnt refering to the blue one at all.

Re: Does anyone have any dyno comparisons?

There was a recall on the grey cps, it will create a miss and fail a contribution test showing #8 cyl failing. Stick with the black one.
