Ive got the Ts performance 6 position chip right now and i talked to a guy at a performance shop that said i could put the edge programmer that adds 75hp to that. He said everything would hold up except maybe my clutch, ive got the 6 speed. HAs enybody tried or heard about this? Ive got the exhuast and intake covered with stacks and afe intake.

Re: Stacking Chips

No you can't to put it simply. Nore would you want or need to. I think the TS would also over ride the EDGE since your TS plugs right into your PCM. Pull it off & send it to Tony Wildman & he can put new tunes on it for you. It will make a diffrence over the TS.

Re: Stacking Chips

like cat said, if you send it off to tony or jody they can put some new tunes on it. stacking chips is a waste of money, unless you are doing an evo/ez stack but is it far more economical to get a custom chip done. just my .02, i have run them all.

Re: Stacking Chips

Dodge Cummins can & are made to be stacked. The 7.3L is great since we can get a tune on the fly chip plugged right into the PCM.

Re: Stacking Chips

The reason they don't stack is because a chip plugged into the back of the PCM overrides whatever is programmed onto the PCM. The Edge unit programs the PCM, so it will be pointless and will not stack.

Stacking is old school technology for these trucks. Back when performance products first came out, no one had a single chip to control fueling, timing, oil pressure, trans line pressure, etc. So multiple boxes were built to control all of these, hence the "stacking". Today's chips from TS, Tony, Jody, etc control everything, so stacking is no longer necessary. Only Edge and Banks continue to provide stacking units, simply because it turns higher profits for them.

Re: Stacking Chips

Your money would be better spend on one good chip with custom tunes.
