OK here goes a Dumb a_$ question

I love my 7.3, but I love the way the 6.0 sounds.....too bad they have all the problems. So is there any way I can make my 7.3 sound like a 6.0 with the whistle and minus the cackle?

You can get very close with a set of headers. Elmo has a video of him revving, and it sounds pretty bad ass. I too love the v8 rumble sound of the 6.0's.

BB turbo and straight pipe exhaust or stacks. Compounds whistle nicely too, but it's pricey.

Re: OK here goes a Dumb a_$ question

nothing sounds like an o3 6.0

but for more bark put a wicked wheel on it for less then 100 bucks...
dieselsite.com . it will help get rid of surge if you have it as well.

cackle is a lil harder to deal with .
you can kill a little idle noise with an hpx line , but have a look at dino fuel alternatives cackle cure kit. tank mods like the hutch and harpoon mod helps too. itp diesel has a kit and prepump filter.

if you have lots of cash a reg return fuel sytem and a fass will do a lot as well.

Re: OK here goes a Dumb a_$ question

Does the foil delete help on the whistle? Any negative effects? I had planned on the regulated return and pre-pump mods anyway. With a crossover line and the fuel mods how bad is the cackle then?

Re: OK here goes a Dumb a_$ question

I didn't notice much of a difference when I did the foil delete. Only that it was alot of work to get that crap off of there. It does look alot nicer without the foil on there. I don't think there is any real negative effects.

Re: OK here goes a Dumb a_$ question

foil is there to quiet sound.. I don't think it affects temps at all..or at least enough to count.

haulin horses 2 seems to have a good idea on cackle info.
might ask him.
