Water Injection

Hello,

I am intersted in a water injection system. Do you guys have any recomendations of systems to use or to stay away from and why? Also is it best to have them inject based on boost? Can you us water only or does it have to be a mix w/ meth? In the cold months I will most likely drain the system as it won't get much use.
Are there any con's to using this type of a system?
Thanks,

Re: Water Injection

I've been really happy with mine as well, really helps with egt's. I've been running straight water in mine as well. But like you, in the colder monthes I was worried about it freezing so I was mixing in a small amount of -40 washer fluid, never had any issues.

Mine is the Snows MPG kit, with 3 nozzles, works really well. Install was simple too

Thanks,
I have been using water injection for about 100,000 now. I love it, love the EGT drop, love that its free to fill, and with a little meth its a good kick too.

I much prefer Cooling Mist over Snows. Snows uses cheap plastic parts, not brass or steel, there pumps are not rated as high for PSI as the Snows, there controlers are not as sophisticated as Cooling Mists, and there injectors I do not like...

When I had problems with my kit, they were anything but helpful. There replacement parts are THREW THE ROOF expensive...

If you install it correctly there are no cons.

Re: Water Injection

The nozzles and holder I got from Snow are stainless steel. And the pump is a 220psi Shurflow, whatever that means. Sounds pretty good for an electric pump though.

Maybe they have changed their lineup.

Re: Water Injection

Sounds like it was just worn out. I bet a new pump from any supplier would have given you the same result.

But it's just a guess. I know it won't be making 220psi though, because I'm running two of those 600 whatever nozzles. Although I'm still waiting on a tank at the moment.
