Started Clicking at idle

Ok my truck is making a clicking or clacking noise at idle, it seems to be on the driver side or in the middle of the engine. It does this as it throttles up then seems to go away when coming to a stop I don't hear it until it starts to idle at about 680 rpms, sometime it doesn't make this clicking or clacking noise. It's not making oil, the mileage is good and it's running fine and it's not smoking. It did this one other time when I had to get on it one day so I floored again and it went away, I added some diesel clean to it and it went away for about 4 weeks, now it's back. What could cause this?
Thanks
Keith

Re: Started Clicking at idle

You are talking different than the normal injector noise?

Re: Started Clicking at idle

I am honestly stumped I will let someone else chime in. Have you checked the oil?

it's got 184,00 miles on it, the gauge reads where it has been for 20 years but i don't have a real gauge on it!

Re: Started Clicking at idle

Well for the last few days I have not heard the noise, it's not a ticking it's a loud clacking like a rocker arm. Would an injector do that or something in the Hpop?
