bully dog removed, but is it still there???

When I fist got my truck it had a bully dog triple dog programmer on it and I got rid of that and got the custom tuned SCT. But i have have been doing some reading and I have seen some thoughts on the subject that even with the bull dog off it still had some of it paramaters are still affecting the tuning. Does anyone know for sure if its still there and will getting custom tuned ficm take care of the issue It has always seemed a tad off at certain times. Thanks for any Ideas

Once you program the truck with the SCT, it will erase whatever else was there before. You can not double-program one of these trucks.

The bullydog only programed the pcm. Parts of it may still be there since it wasn't really writing a true factory file into it. Hence why in mode 9 data in the pcm, instead of the name of the calibration strategy it said something like Copyright blah blah Bullydog technologies instead of something like VXCF0DA.HEX

PSDPlayer so does the sct erase the whole program and completely put a new tune on the pcm then. I just wanted to know if I needed to get a new flash on it.

It's supposed to load a complete file into the pcm. However, I'm not sure what happens to the pcm after the bullydog crams it's bastardized file in there. Try before you buy bullydog has rendered a few pcms non functional.

Re: bully dog removed, but is it still there???

I read something on another forum about the Bully Dog tuners not returning the trucks back to a true stock tune. Thus, when loading another tune, it made the truck feel sluggish.

You might contact Innovative Diesel. I think I read where Eric recommended having the dealership flash your vehicle back to stock to completely remove the bullydog program.
