first road trip with the sct

Just came back from Topeka, KS. It was the first road trip with the truck tune. I left the xtreme street tune in there, round trip was about 700 miles, and according to my calculation, I got about 19 miles/gallons, that's including a little bit of fun while in Topeka To say the least I'm really satisfied. Without the playing around would have had about 20 miles/gallon, next time will try the street tune to see if it's better.

Sounds great to me! I remember getting 20+ when taking long trips back before I got all mod crazy lol

Re: first road trip with the sct

I just had my first trip on our SCT with TSD Tunes. Round trip of 250 miles to our ranch, I haven't computed the mileage yet, but it was an obvious difference in the amount of fuel used and the steep hills were handled with ease. Gotta love these tuners.

Man that's great mileage. I just did a rounder from Houston to San Antonio. Right at 16 mpg. Was doing 85+ the whole way though. I'm pretty satisfied.

Forgot to say but I'm using the Rev-X fuel additive. Also was doing 75 mph, on cruise control, rpm just shy of 2k....

I can only imagine what ours would have been if we drove out there since my truck pukes in Torque Tow. I love my extreme and insanity files though. I usually get 18-22, but I drive slow

don't really know! I got the tuner 2 days after I got the truck, and never look back! was like a completely different truck!

Re: first road trip with the sct

My experience has been that your best mileage will come from the extreme tunes. I have seen 22 mpg over 500 non-stop highway miles before on the extreme race. The street tune won't touch that. Did I mention that 22 mpg was at 82 mph? Anything between 57 & 80 mph has always netted me less. If I keep it at 55 mph, it will be close to 22, but that's no fun!

and you would probably have to shave twice before you got to destination
