Need some advice

Took my truck to the track today to see what I could put down. Ran a best time of 14.66 at 89mph with a 1.8 60'. I'm trying to get my truck into the 13s but I want to stay away from nitrous and I don't want to downsize(8" lift, 37s). I've been leaning towards upping to 155cc injectors and the Garret powermax but I don't think that will be enough to satisfy me. I'd love to be in the low 13s

Also as a side note I'm wondering if my water injection is hurting my 1/4 time. I'm running the alcohol injection systems stage 1 kit with 2 nozzles, I'm not sure if that's two much for what I have done. I ran with the water and averaged 14.9s, w/o the water i was averaging 14.6-7s.

The rest of my mods are in my sig

Thanks

Re: Need some advice

Yep, go with the PowerMax with 155's, that'd be a perfect setup. I plan on doing the same. And if that's not enough, spray it.

Re: Need some advice

What would be the best sized shot to go with that setup? Are high 12s possible?

You're gonna need a whole heck of a lot more power to run 12's with that lift tire size combo. I saw a vid on youtube of a crew cab 6.4 running 12.7's on 40's, but it had a LOT of upgrades, and that is HARD on drivetrain.

Why don't you want to use spray?

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!

Re: Need some advice

I'm willing to spray it but I'd rather have all the time usable power. Do you think 155s with the garret turbo plus nitrous will make 12s possible for my setup? I'm also wanting to get my hands on one of dougs intakes eventually too

Edit: I'd like to see this video if you could post a link lol

Re: Need some advice

I saw a CC LB 6.4 with just Eric's X-Race tune (about 600HP) run a 12.8 on 37's and a 6" lift. I'll try and find the video.

EDIT: Here ya go.

Re: Need some advice

190's and a 64mm could get you in the 13's. when you ran it the 1/4 did you drop your spare and tail gate?

No I ran with both my spare and tail got on. That's a setup up I've also been considering, trying to make a decision on that.

Re: Need some advice

I doubt taking your spare or tailgate off is going to make.sny difference at all. I mean your trying to.push a 8000 pound jacked up brick oc a truck here. Me personally I would take anything off it. It's not gonna make any difference
