gauge question

hey guys, ive got some simple questions for ya. I want to install two gauges and want some tips for the install.

first is Fuel. where is the best place to tap into the system for this? What PSI gauge is needed, and pictures help for me.

Second is battery volts. I know how to do this one for the most part, but is there any tips for our trucks that are the home of two batteries? or do you only read total system voltage with the alternator?

Re: gauge question

you will need a billet aluminum fuel cap with a threaded hole in the cap so you can install a sensor. Dont forget that egt gauge! id recommend at least a 80 psi gauge.

Re: gauge question

for the fuel cap, i assume your talking for the filter on top of the engine correct? would you put a sending unit in there so you did not have fuel going into the cab?

as for EGT, i already have that.

Yes, the billet cap is for that filter. If you use an electric fuel pressure gauge then no fuel will run to the cab.

0-100 psi fuel pressure gauge, electric, Isspro EV2 is what I would recomend...

Volts, no need to do anything further then tap a keyed on Hot power anywhere in the cab...

Re: gauge question

as CSI said, you want a 0-100 fuel pressure electric, I prefer autometer's.

Also the the keyed hot power wire is where my voltmeter is at.

The fuel pressure can be taken from the top of the secondary fuel bowl under the hood with a billet filter cap that's pre tapped for the sender, or you could go in the pressure test port fitting in the front of the secondary fuel bowl.

here is how mine was installed
