tuned ficm or modded?

was it worth it either way? What gains? What changes in truck behavior? Let me know what you think of these two routes...

Re: tuned ficm or modded?

Why not both? from what i understand (i could be wrong) a modded FICM is one that is altered to push more volts and not burn up like the stock ones. A modded one could then be tuned and you wouldnt have to worry about frying it.

'15, CC, SB, 4x4, 6.7L........bone stock

Re: tuned ficm or modded?

Swamps does both. They will upgrade it to 58V and then throw a tune on it.

Re: tuned ficm or modded?

Yes Swamps ups the voltage. If they reprogram it they use the power hungry performance software to reprogram them. Innovative can also reprogram your FICM. No one seems to have negative feedback other than cold starts with the Innovative reprogram. Search and read the reviews. Hopefully the guys that have the upgrades will chime in.

Re: tuned ficm or modded?

I've got the 58 volt right now, and love it. I got to run a 58v. with the tune and it straight effing rocked. That was a night and day difference for my truck.

Re: tuned ficm or modded?

I'm looking for a new ficm within the next couple weeks as mine is on it's way out. Is the reprogramed 58v from swamps worth it? Any performance/ milage gains over a stock unit from ford?
