Exhaust - Aluminized or Stainless?

Need to order exhaust for the truck. Going to go with a MBRP 4" Turbo Back. I'm going to run a muffler but no cat.

My question is...should I order aluminized or stainless? If the answer is stainless...T409 or T304($$$$)? I want it to last, but also dont want to break the bank doing it. Pics would be great if you have them.

Re: Exhaust - Aluminized or Stainless?

My exhaust is entirely aluminum. It been on the truck for about 60k in Florida weather with zero rust and basically no deterioration at all. Can't say much about SS exhaust I've never run it.

We live in Texas, Aluminized is perfect. I have had mine on for nearly 8 years and it looks new.

i live in ohio and i have a aluminzed diamond eye 5" i've had on for 25 thousand miles and it looks brand new still. mines a turbo back with no cat and no muffler looks great and sounds great! i paid extra for the bigger exhaust but still cheaper than stainless at five hundred

Re: Exhaust - Aluminized or Stainless?

I got the MBRP 4" Turbo Back in the T409 without cat but with the muffler I am happy with the sound and durability. Here are a couple of pics had it on there for 3 years with a good amount of snow and salt last year around here. I also drive on the beach often.

I know you are pretty picky, I would stick with the 409 SS

Re: Exhaust - Aluminized or Stainless?

Like Tim said, aluminized is fine for where we are. We have one on our 99 and it looks fine after about 11 years. i have SS on mine, but i got it for cheaper than the aluminized so that is the only reason i have it. If you just want SS, then stay with the 409.

Txfireman1972 - Why did you put your truck back to stock again? Just curious.

Re: Exhaust - Aluminized or Stainless?

I run alumized and after 3 years it is starting to rust. I would stick with stainless because I believe that is what comes stock. I live on an island 100 feet from the atlantic ocean. Everything rusts where I am.
