Very Different Opinions....

I have the Airdog II on my truck that replaces the entire stock lift pump. I have the top side fuel filter still in the fuel bowl.

Here is the question, I want to take the filter out for good on the top side, because sooner or later its going to get dirty, and I don't want to spend 60-70 bucks just for that little filter.

So I was talking to some guys who just said take out the filter and the STAND PIPE, and call it good.

Does this sound right. What are you guys doing that are running this system. What other options do I have?

Thanks in advance.

You want to take it out because it's going to get dirty? Doesn't that mean it's still filtering things you airdog missed?

doesnt hurt to keep it in. I would rather replace a filter then a set of injectors or more

Re: Very Different Opinions....

Well, yes I guess thats right. But the whole deal with this airdog was to double my filtration and have cheap and fast filter changes. I am guessing the topside filter would not get dirty quick but after a while spending 60 or whatever dollars on just that filter would get old, ya know.

I ditched mine because you can't buy that filter separate and the filter kit isn't cheap

Thats why I want to do mine, Just trying to make sure that their are no ill side affects from doing it.

So what I need to do is just pull out the two screws and take it out, thats it?

Fuel filters from the International dealer are around $35. For that price, I'd leave it in. How often do you think you're going to have to replace it anyways? If it's getting dirty, it's catching stuff. Leave it there. JMO.

If you were dead set on taking it out, I'd just split the fuel lines up by the heads and feed directly to the front of the heads from the AD2. Just eliminate the fuel bowl all together.

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!

Re: Very Different Opinions....

You guys with AD2s (especially with larger injectors)......are you able to maintain fuel pressure at WOT?
