Head studs AGAIN.

OK, I appreciate all the help diagnosing my headgasket issues...After I'm done with all the repairs I have a buyer for my 6.0 and Im gonna buy a 6.4. I have been reading for days on two different stud install torqure proceedure methods...Obviously ARPs multi torque sequence directions to 210lbs with the new lube, and the other being a multi torque sequence finishing with a 90* torque for the last.
Which one is prefered? and it appears that a hot retorque is also undecided???

I hope the heads are done getting checked out and resurfaced tomorrow then I can start the re-assembly
Please help me get this 6.0 headgasket replacement w/studs done so the truck can be GONE!

Re: Head studs AGAIN.

Shouldn't this be in the 6.0 forum....or am I reading the post wrong?

Re: Head studs AGAIN.

Follow ARP's instructions for the new lube, but make sure the heads and deck are both flat first.

Yep! Sorry, I posted it in the wrong forum

If a moderator can ship it over to the 6.0 class ....that would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Head studs AGAIN.

I'd just like to re-itterate it is a MUST for your heads to be flat. As far as the new torque specs go I can't help you there. From what I've heard, some people do the re-torques, some do not.

The idea behind the new lube is that you dont have to do the re-torque. It's supposed to be right on the first time.

Personally I would follow ARPs instructions.

The heads MUST be FLAT though.

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!

Re: Head studs AGAIN.

Its a more consistent lube with more lubricity so it takes less torque to achieve the same clamping force. The comparison study I saw comparing it with the old stuff and other lubes was pretty impressive.
