Aftermarket intake questions??

I know this has probably been asked a million times and I did search but cant find a good answer.

I have a 6.0 apparently with 6.4 bango bolts, a 4in straight pipe and a sct with eric's street tune. Will an aftermarket intake be worth the money? Will I notice any performance gains or MPG gains because Im only getting about 14-15 mpg on the highway and I do alot of traveling to and from work so Im looking into trying to increase those numbers a little bit. Every little bit helps. Will an aftermarket intake be worth the money? Will I notice anything from it?

Thanks guys!

Talking Re: Aftermarket intake questions??

Sure it will.....wanna buy mine????

I paid for it almost 3 months ago, bought a core, and shipped that in too...

I will sell mine to you for the exact price I paid for it, because I haven't got it yet...and will eat the cost of the core that I paid for and had delivered...

BTW...it's from GoGo Diesel.

Before ANYONE starts with comments like: "You should call Doug..." or, "maybe E-mail him..." I have, and he has returned every....well, pretty much every call, and E-mail I have ever sent. He hasn't replied to the last E-mail I sent...I basically said that Sept.5th will be the third month that he has had my money, and I have no intake yet...and I would like to know when it will be shipping...

I know Doug and I sometimes don't see eye to eye on things...but jeeeezuus...this is business...and right now, his business is lacking...uhm...what do you call it???? oh yeah...PRODUCT.

Re: Aftermarket intake questions??

Are you sure he doesn't mean just an intake (like a filter and stuff) and not an intake manifold?

Re: Aftermarket intake questions??

Ivan, the intakes Doug sells are C&C'd, he does not own the C&C machine. Long story, he has to buy the time from the c&c shop when it becomes available. Every time I have been at the cc shop its running balls to the wall. I am not saying your wait is not long, it is. From my understanding, you talked with Doug about this recently, and voiced your frustrations. Doug has redesigned the intake, and has to retool the C&C machine to do that. My understanding is your getting one of the new designs? The manifolds alone take 3 days to soak in a tank to clean, if its not perfectly clean, then the CC machine has to be completely cleaned each time. If you figure there are 10 manifolds going out, that's 30 days soak time alone. Again, not justifying the time, just trying to explain it.

If you notice, Doug has not been on here nor any other forum for weeks. He's slammed, and trying to catch up. It sucks, I know first hand. I waited 3 months or more for the Ranger manifold, but I will say it is 100% worth the wait when you get it. Doug's a big boy....(no pun intended big man, ), I'm not talking for him.

Re: Aftermarket intake questions??

The way I understand the OP's post, he's wanting an Intake and Filter. The stock intake is good for 500 horses(or so ive read) but i have an S&B Cold Air Intake on my 6.0 and absolutely love it. Plus the box has a small opening that runs towards the header panel. I did the Zoodad mod on my truck so now i get air straight into my intake box.

Re: Aftermarket intake questions??

I wasnt talking about an intake manifold. I was talking about an aftermarket intake and filter to replace the stock bulky air box. I have heard the factory stuff is good for up to 500whp but that's why I was asking. I don't want to waste money on an aftermarket unit if I won't notice any gains from doing so.

So to clear things up, Will an aftermarket intake and filter make any differences for me?
