Re: Fire Ring Heads

lot of people would blow the ring into the cylinders or the water jackets

with a flat surface and h11s theres no need for anything else

Heard also that they dont like a lot of heat cycles, like in the DD sence. But i cant confirm this, just heard about it.

Pull truck:
96' F-250 ex-cab
Swamps oil and fuel
T-bars,airbags, 5in stacks
getting back on the road soon.
Now have a s366 from Swamps now.

01' xlt excursion with a 7.3

Re: Fire Ring Heads

Pinched ring gaskets on install, and seapage after a lot of heat cycles. Thats when I said no thanks. ARP's and stock head gaskets or black onyx.

Re: Fire Ring Heads

When I had my motor built, the shop was adamant against them. Flat surface, and good studs, gives a lot more clamping force surface area.

Re: Fire Ring Heads

Why not check to see what the guys that are making over 800, 900, and 1000hp are doing?

NONE of them are using fire rings...

I know Ivan, I just do random discussions about things, instead of the usual exhaust egr delete question. Also its a quick reference if someone ask, they can search n view the thread.
