Am I The Only One........

So I was very exited to get all my stuff back in order from having the truck down for a while. I finally have all the things I want on my truck at once. ARP head studs, New head gaskets, EGR delete, Airdog II full system with stock lift pump removed. And the SCT X3 with Gearhead SRL+. So I have been driving it for about 3-4000 miles and have noticed the starting getting harder and harder, Like it hesitates before it will start. This is cold or warm. I drive about 200 miles a day and have noticed it also surging a bit at a stop. Finally today it started shaking bad with no power and I had to pull over. Shut it off and turned it on about three times and it was fine. I am good friends with the Techs at ford, so I went in right after all this happened. They ran all the tests and nothing was found FICM 48v all injectors up and running, no codes thrown. So we pull the SCT off and it runs fine, starts fine and all is good. Put SCT back on and it is acting up again, Try a new tune still the same, try the canned tune, still the same. Take it off again and it runs great. Whats the deal???

Pull codes when it's acting up with tune in. I'll bet you have the start of an injector failure. Mine acted the same way when my injector went.

Think of it this way with tunes your engine is running more efficiently so the little things affect it more.

We did, and it had nothing that the labtop could see, besides the code for the egr and fuel pump, which I dont have anymore. I just dont understand. all the injectors passed and every other test under the sun passed. They are going to go ahead and change the top half of the FICM anyway just to make sure its not that intermintantly. I dunno I think its time to go DE-STROKED, But thats a ton of money to. I just want a reliable truck.

what oil are you running in it, cuz my 6.0 is tuned and none of the other goodies and i drive it like i stole it, and i have a perfectly reliable engine at 200k miles

u can do it with a scanner that has data logging capabilities, or you can get a billet fuel filter cap and they are tapped with a pipe thread and put a gauge on it

The 6.0 has no factory fuel pressure sensor. You can only monitor this parameter with an aftermarket guage

Just a thought but it may be the HPOP. If the engine isnt getting the oil it needs with the new tunes that could explain the surging and loss of power

Well the fuel psi is steady at 60psi. Even when doing the heavy shaking. So is the tack. Oil is motocraft factory recommended with Lucas oil stabalizer. I'm kinda pissed customer I'm 200 miles inside my warranty and they are bending over backwards to repair anythingthat is wrong, but can't find anything but the tuner. So now I just got smoked by a duramax coming home from a rodeo, but my trucks running great. Great but detuned.
