What would be the perfect single turbo....

If you could spec it out completely, and STILL use it in a twin turbo application?

I think if a fella could use "Unobtainium" for the compressor wheel, and make the inducer 64mm....and the exducer about a 91mm....then make the turbine inducer saaaayy....79-80mm and the exducer 71mm...maybe with a clipped wheel, or a wastegate...
Then make the turbine A/R about a 12cm....or .65/.70

What if we could use the up-pipes and manifold from a 7.3L, instead of the silly "Y" pipe manifold we have on the 6.0L...

Oh...and maybe use stainless steel for the turbine housing, or ceramic coat the bugger...

Any other idea's???

Discuss....

well i guess ill join in lol. non gated with a 12cm would be a no no. drive pressure would get up there. clipping the exhaust wheel works but i know alot of companys think its ghetto lol. i think the best single turbo is stock .
i will be testing single turbos soon in another truck. ill let you guys know how things work out.

But if you go too big on the compressor...then you have surge issues.

No doubt...there is nothing that spools as fast as a VGT type turbo...

I also can't STAND the whistle of a VGT style turbo anymore....

Put on a modded intake and I bet all your opinions of turbo sizing will change!
