aftermarket cam

Ok, so ive search this forum and a couple others but haven't found anyone but elite that is selling different cams for the 6.0. There has been talk of hamilton and possibly doug tryig some different grinds but nothing concrete. So my question is simply are there any other current options or is elite the only one offering them right now?

Re: aftermarket cam

elite's is the only one i've found. i dont think there's much of a demand for 6.0 cams. you can probbly have one custom ground. are you wanting to turn more rpms.

Re: aftermarket cam

I'm just looking for a mild cam to help with spool up and egts, nothing to fancy. It's been looking like im going with elite's stage 1 but i wanted to ask around first to see if anyone else had any available.

Re: aftermarket cam

There is a new intake manifold out from GoGo Diesel, and then there are the headers that are out that will help with spooling.

Pull truck:
96' F-250 ex-cab
Swamps oil and fuel
T-bars,airbags, 5in stacks
getting back on the road soon.
Now have a s366 from Swamps now.

01' xlt excursion with a 7.3
all stock for now and gets 18mpg

Re: aftermarket cam

If you are trying to light a non-vgt charger the cam is your "not lighting the charger worth a ####" issue. They probably open the exhaust later to maximize the power stroke time since they can lean on the VGT to get the turbine moving. I don't know this for a fact but by the way the exhaust note sounds and how it reacts with a non-vgt charger, I'm pretty sure this is the case.

Re: aftermarket cam

Geoff Bardahl at Colt Cams has a "Mild" and a "Performance" cam for the 6.0L

I am running the "Performance cam from him.

They are NOT advertised on his site, because they are being tested right now...but I'm sure he has a few ready to go...Please tell him I linked you to him.

Funny you should mention those, they are actually on my list of wanted parts.

The goal will be to daily drive 205-225cc injectors, on a CCLB lifted truck, with a big single. I'm hoping to go non vgt but if that doesn't work then i'll prob try one of elites turbos. But i figure a light port/polish on the heads, mild cam, doug's intake, a set of headers, and some custom tuning/FICM flash from Eric and it just might be possible.......maybe lol
