Re: Throttle Body Spacer

I was talking to a friend of mine about getting more power out of my truck and he said to put a throttle body spacer on it. I have been looking at some on the internet. Am I looking at the wrong thing?? I have only been a diesel owner for about a year and am starting to upgrade my truck.

Re: Throttle Body Spacer

your friend has no idea what he is talking about, throttle body spacers are for gas engines and they don't even do anything for gas engines. your truck is direct injected and turbo charged. if you want performance you need to innovativediesel.com or elitedieselengineering.com those are the two biggest 6.0 shops but there are other great sponsors on this site. Go to one of those sites and look at SCT programmer with custom tunes it will add over 100hp, a good turbo back exhaust is also a good thing to do but won't gain much performance wise. Gauges are also a must you can either get the SCT livewire which is a tuner and gauges in one or you can install manual gauges on a pillar pod. NOW for the boring stuff that NEEDS done the EGR cooler needs to be addressed either completley removed or upgraded because it can cause head gasket failure, Head studs are another must but the cab needs removed from the frame to install them. that is a basic run down if you have question just ask

Re: Throttle Body Spacer

just look in here
6.0L Power Stroke - Aftermarket Performance - Powerstroke Nationuse the search function. I don't have a 6.0 but i'd say innovative custom tunes is a good start.

btw diesels don't have throttle bodys, so whoever told you that has no clue.

Re: Throttle Body Spacer

air raid actually sells a spacer that you put inline with your ic pipe but its still a waste of money and completely BS. and it restricts flow
