2 stroke oil in a 6 liter

I've been reading about people running 2 stroke oil in there fuel to help keep the injectors running smoothly and to keep them quiet. I've been running the lucas injector cleaner and what not but I can't see any real difference. What kind of oil do you use and what ratio do you put to a gallon of diesel. Also what is the best synthetic oil to use for it to. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2 stroke oil in a 6 liter

I go by the book. I use Motorcraft 15-40 from April to October and Motorcraft HD 10-30 through the winter. I have been useing Powerservice year round but I just bought three gallons of the Motorcraft perfomance/cetane boost and it works better. It was $33.00 a gallon and it treats 500 gallons. I bought it online. If you decide to use it I can post the link. I never used 2 stroke oil. I have tried syn oil and I really didn't any benifit from it and it was double the price. I change my oil every 3 to 4K.. Truck runs great..

32oz to the gallon. tcw3. i use wally world supertech. it is 11.89 i think with tax here. treats 4 tanks. make the truck noticibly quieter at idle. i havent noticed any significant mpg improvement. i did run the diesel kleen and didnt notice any gains or noise reduction what so ever. fuel filters with diesel kleen, straight diesel and two stroke oil were all clean at 15k intervals. the only difference was with the two stroke there was a little blue hue to the filters once i tore past the water seperator

to the last 2 posters. Wally world is very popular because it is cheap and meets the requirements. Other's will work as well, just make sure it meets the requirements and is ashless.

I use Motorcraft fuel additive. Is it ok to use that and the 2 stroke oil at the same time, or should i use one or the other? If so which one?

Re: 2 stroke oil in a 6 liter

Will motorcyle 2 stroke oil work? It is not TCW3, however it is ashless. I work at a Yamaha dealership and I get Yamahlube 2R (Yamaha's Best) fairly cheap. What do you guys think?

It's fine. I have run 2-stroke oil with other additives at the same time.
