Up pipe “scoop” removal

Hello, I’m getting ready to delete my egr cooler. I know there are tons of options But I’m leaning toward welding my current cooler at both ends and removing the scoop from the up pipe while I’m in there. Is the scoop something that is removable or is it best to just buy a quality pipe without the egr flange? If so who sells a decent one? Thanks in advance, Brandon.

There's a block off for it. Little round disc.
Do "6.0 powerstroke up pipe block off." Thatll round up some results.

If you want a pipe, IPR Research makes the highest quality pipe and egr delete hands down. Priced accordingly though. Why just weld it up since you're there? Delete it and make your valley look a bit better.

Shoulda bought a Cummins.

1997 F250 7.3L XLT, 4x4, 5spd, 315K, TS chip, BD Turbo-Thruster II, Donaldson 6637 filter, 4" straight piped dual exit SOLD

1995 F350 CCLB 5.8L XLT Tan leather interior. Soon to be swapped onto a 6.0 frame.

Re: Up pipe “scoop” removal

you can get a 03 OEM up pipe with no scoop or if the bellows are good on yours you can cut the existing one out

if you don't need the egr cooler in place for inspections then by all means use a method that deletes it and get a non y up pipe

Re: Up pipe “scoop” removal

you don't really need a patch welded if your egr cooler is welded, the diverter scoop is just a huge turbulence maker
that is better off gone
