Tranny problem with Deranged, Help

I have a few folks, including Doug, working on this. When I put the tranny in R, it goes to reverse, when I go to N it goes to N, when I put it in d,3,2,or 1, it goes into a very high gear, and does not shift, at all. It will drive, but the Tranny temps go through the roof, and it stays in whatever gear its in. I checked, its got power from the TCM, to the transmission, the ground at the tranny is good, but no shifting. What am I missing? Its a brand new 5r110 from TCI. It sat around for almost 2 years before being installed. Any suggestions????

Re: Tranny problem with Deranged, Help

You need to get access to data pids that you dont have before putting out an internet SOS... The most simplest of questions need to be answered by 1 pid. What is the commanded gear? And when you put it in the manual gears, why don't they manually apply? Did TCI leave the manual valve disconnected in the valve body? If you disconnect the TCI shifter from it and feel each detent if the manual valve was sticking you will have some great effort trying to move it.

The enhanced OE interface on autoenginuity's website shows TCM CAN access.

Re: Tranny problem with Deranged, Help

yes you have a vlvebody problem i believe

I would pull the valvebody and test or replace the seliniods and take the valvebody apart theres a screen/gasket inbetween to to section of the valvebody and make sure its the oring part of it is in good condition and didnt get messed up
sounds like your 3-5 seliniod is stuck on

Re: Tranny problem with Deranged, Help

The TCM receives critical information from the ECM via CAN. If the CAN link fails, the TCM no longer has torque or engine speed information available – the high side switch will be opened. The TCM will store a U0100 fault code if unable to communicate with the TCM.
