Cold Air Intake

There are so many air intakes these days. Which one is the best? I had an s&b on my 7.3. It was really good I thought. I don’t know if I should do the same one or kind for my 6.0 or if I should get an open air type. What are the advantages of open air to forced air? Also I was reading that the plastic in those holds heat. Thanks for the help.

Re: Cold Air Intake

The best intake for the 6.0L (unless you are making crazy HP) is the factory Donaldson filter. It flows freely, filters great to protect your turbo and lasts a long time. On a stock or even close to stock truck, you will never notice any power gains from any aftermarket filter but you might set yourself up for a world of hurt.... dusted turbo or oil on the MAF sensor (if it's a wet bath type),
