You can just do an oil cooler rebuild from Ford.

I use the black onyx ones, as far as durability someone else might be able to chime in. But IIRC they are cheaper and as good, if not more durable than the stock ones.

Re: Stock or Aftermarket Headgaskets?

When i studded my truck elite said stockers are fine...If you aremaking 50 plus psi of boost they said aftermarkets...and even special studs like elite makes...But i have had no issues with my stockers with studs and i spray the #### out of the poor girl...I know i had to buy head bolts with my gaskets from ford they wouldnt just sell the gaskets it was like a kit kinda lame!! So i was left with new junk ass ford bolts!!

Re: Stock or Aftermarket Headgaskets?

Yes, stock gaskets will work fine. A lot of folks go with the Black Onyx gaskets because they're less expensive and work equally well. There's a number of vendors on this site that sell the Black Onyx gaskets and I'm guessing you'd pay less for them than buying gaskets and bolts off eBay.

Re: Stock or Aftermarket Headgaskets?

David (Powerstroke racer) is a vendor and will give you a good price. Bought mine from him. I got the victor reinz gaskets they are black mls and a lot cheaper than the black onyx gaskets... Look exactly the same about half the cost. I got my intake gaskets off ebay $30.06 on a auction and the oil cooler was $183. Saved over $100 bucks on the oil cooler and intake gaskets. If you need part#s or info on the gaskets pm me and ill get you the info. I'm welding the egr cooler and checking the heads and after that I anticipate a solid dependable truck. Not that it hasn't been already.
