I recently picked up an SCT X4 tuner for the 05' F250 that I recently picked up. It was an older gentleman's, and it only got used it to pull his camper. It's still got the stock bolts in the heads, and it's got 200K miles on it, and looks brand new.
I went through it and did an EGR
delete, put a new oil cooler on it, and replaced all of the standard "issues" (d-plugs, standpipes, sct fitting).
I picked up 3 custom tunes for the SCT tuner from Eric at Innovative...the Street tune, the Extreme Street tune, and the Towing tune w/brake. All are "supposed" to be ok for non studded motors.
I'm really easy on the gas, I don't hot rod my truck, but every now and then I'll mash the gas to the floor if I need to get in front of someone on the highway, or I'm passing someone. I don't drag race, or get on the gas hard for long duration's.
I'm just wondering.....how safe are those tunes for a stock TTY head bolt motor? Should I avoid running the Extreme Street tune and just stay with the Street and Towing tunes?
Any advice would be great! Thanks!!
