Maximum fuel pressure?

What is the maximum fuel pressure the injectors should see? And what I mean is not at idle, but at full boost.......on a boost referenced regulator?

I've been having some fuel system issues for some time, and think it's not electrical, but in the regulator or how it's set. And have burned up a couple very expensive MagnaFuel pumps.

Have always set pressure at idle around 60 psi, and the regulator is boost referenced 1:1. Never had a problem until I went with the twins. So I'm thinking with 60 psi fuel, getting bumped up with say 80 psi boost.....something isn't working.

I thought somewhere I read that 100 psi fuel pressure at the injector was about max? True?

Re: Maximum fuel pressure?

Don't need a boost referenced regulator. This isn't a gas application where the injector sits in the runner and has to over come boost.

Makes sense. Not sure why I went that route 3 years ago..........

So what seems to be the best pressure to run at?

Re: Maximum fuel pressure?

I did it too and I can't remember why...I guess it was the experiment of the day back then. Mine never saw over 100psi max even at full boost.

My CR is boost referenced and gets to about 90psi at full boost from 20 at idle...there's dyno proven HP doing it this way with the CR's though.

Spending money I don't have on crap I don't need to impress people I don't know.

Re: Maximum fuel pressure?

I set my regulator at 85psi and I have yet to have a fuel issue in 2 years. But I also heard that 100psi is the limit... Im not gonna test it. lol

Rich what was all that talk about clattering from the CP3s with higher pressure? Or was that only on dual pump setups?

Re: Maximum fuel pressure?

I run an Aeromotive marine pump with the marine grade regulator.

Overkill system, and lines, as well as filters, and checkvalve...

Fuel pressure is set at 68 Psi, and zero drop in pressure from idle to 4000+ rpm.
Not Boost referenced.

Some of the dual kits like high inlet pressure...some like low. It all depends on the electronics used.

Re: Maximum fuel pressure?

50-100psi is where you want your fuel pressure
