tuned HPOP pressures 6.0 questions

Well last night I had a friend hook his scanner up to my truck to do some real time data.
I was running innovatives x-street tune.

I guess i have a few questions on the info we found. The first was he icp pressure the desired was 1780 and it met it and the duty cycle was 80%. I thought that that seemed a little low. Most people talk about the pressures to be in the upper 2000's psi.

I know to crank, the system requires 500 psi iirc.

Not always.

I would be less concerned with the psi number and more concerned with the voltage of the sensor. Trying to get it as close to 5 volts as possible.

Re: tuned HPOP pressures 6.0 questions

you will not see what the ICP actually is on the scanner because of programming w/ Erics tunes, to see you will have to put a mechanical gauge on it. 1780 is all you will see w/ the scanner on Erics tunes.

It's reading what its told. It's reading correctly. But it has been rescaled.

Sometimes it seems like you post just to be posting.

Its not reading actual pressure so therefore it is NOT CORRECT it may be reading what its told but it is told a bogus number....1 doesnot = 1 in this case. So instead of trying to talk circles like you have some inside track on something just answer the mans question, even if he wasn't completely clear on we all knew what he was asking.

I did answer his question. It is reading the rescaled voltage to MPa table in the processor. 4000 has become whatever it has been rescaled to in the tune. But the tables in the tune are in MPa. So 28MPa which was ~4061PSI is now being desired as 12MPa. 28 has become 12.

It is reading CORRECTLY since the computer only sees VOLTAGE. And then converts that into an MPa number for the PID display on the scan tool.

So a mechanical gauge is NOT needed. Since the sensor is telling you that it is getting the pressure you want since the VOLTAGE is where it needs to be.

Re: tuned HPOP pressures 6.0 questions

but seeing how he doesn't know that....not being a tuner the scan tool is showing in a PSI value that is not what the truck is seeing............end of story.
