Injector shorting out ficm?

has anyone ever heard of this? my truck decided not to crank and i had to have it towed to the dealership. theyre telling me the ficm is toast and its because the #2 injector shorted it out. WTF? Ive never heard of such a thing, any insight?

The FICM or IDM (injector driver module) can fail due to a shorted injector.

i doubt it was the injector unless it was the pigtail on the spool valve. most likely a wire chaffed in the harness..be my guess

That is what I was said. Injector Driver Module (IDM) is what it was called internally at Navistar but Ford adopted the Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) name when the truck was released. I stated both to help avoid confusion.
