5r rebuild?

Anyone know who is good and cheap to rebuild a 5r? I want to buy a suncoast kit, gut my trans and have someone else put it back together... preferably close to CO. And i cant spend 2k or I would have elite do it.

Re: 5r rebuild?

You're gonna have a real hard time finding someone to build a 5r110 for less than 2k I think. And I'm not sure I'd trust it if you did find someone.

That said, I'm having mine built at Diesel Innovations right now. I should be picking it up this weekend.

My dealership will pull my trans and rebuilt it for 1200, not including parts though. I'd ask around see what you can find.

Re: 5r rebuild?

I think the suncoast heavy duty rebuilds go for around 1000 so realisticlly your looking at around 2000 or more installed. since the transmissions can have the best internal components but they are really only as good as the installer I wouldnt want to find just anyone to rebuild it. Mine is starting to slip pretty bad, looking into transmission options as well. would like to get an NADP under there, if only they were closer...

NADP definitely seems to be the transmission of choice...

I know everyone knocks the ATS trannies, but their warranty is pretty intriguing...

Where in CO are you? I would just save up and put out the big bucks for a good built trans instead of going cheap and doing it twice.
