Banks Six gun

i just bought a 05 f250 and it already has the banks six gun on it...not a big fan of banks stuff but i if it already has it then i might al well use it. when i test drove the truck i tried all the position on the dial none where any different. i ask the sale guy if he knew anything about it and of course he said no... i bought the truck and im in the shop trying to trouble shoot it and find out that the thermocouple system isn't install. reading the installation direction i found that im supposed to connect the red and yellow wires to a sensor. i found the red and yellow wires coming from the six gun module but cant find the sensor their supposed to connect to....any ideas?

Re: Banks Six gun

you wont notice much difference on the 6 gun levels untill you get into the SL. function.. the sensor you are looking for is not something that comes factory on the truck. you have to put it on yourself. youre gonna have to contact banks to get it if it is not in the truck somewere. and good luck with that. the experiences i have had with the people at banks was not pleasant.

The wires you found are supposed to connect to the red and yellow wires of a pyrometer probe. If the six-gun is already installed in the truck, it should have a probe already installed in one of the exhaust manifolds.

Re: Banks Six gun

check for green light on the banks box under hood.
if no light, then look for blown fuse on the banks wiring.
