no air filter at the track

i was wondering if anyone has removed their air filter on their 6.0 at that track just to get that little more air. might be a stupid question but thought what the hell i'll throw it out there.

I dont see the point. I HIGHLY doubt you'll notice any difference. Just do the zoodad and leave it alone. 6.0's are not cheap motors to change an extra 1hp on.

I've seen dynos done on other motors (not a 6.0) where they lost power(torque mostly) by removing the filter.

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!

Re: no air filter at the track

With the 66mm turbo I had....one hard run would suck the filter minder in...and I have a AFE stage 2 XP.

So yes, when I race, I remove the filter element.

Re: no air filter at the track

All the zoodad mod is cutting part of the framing behind the grill allowing more airflow to the filter. Do a search for Zoodad on this site probably find a couple.

Re: no air filter at the track

it is cutting a hole in the plastic beside the radiator directly in front of where youre intake tube sits. it allows more air to enter youre intake..

That's pretty crazy! Have you proven its effectiveness? ie, time slips or dyno runs? I'm curious...

TIA.
