Re: Intake system

The stock one is good for 500hp (or so they say), but I hate trying to get the damn filter out an in. I just got an S&B, don't know if you have seen it yet. You can check it out this weekend and I think it was 260ish... but you should get your SCT first!

2006 F250 CC LB FX4 Lariat
ARP studs, SCT X3 IDP & Gearhead tuned, S&B CAI, straight pipe, FASS 150/180, FCDP solid uppipe, Dieselsite coolant filter
2.5" BTS leveling kit, 35" Xtreme A/T's on XD Hoss 18's, N-Fab prerunner bar w/ 3 9" Hellas
Pioneer double din, JL components, 3 10" Pioneer subs

Re: Intake system

Lots of guys are running AFE stage II's..or theres the DIY 6637 mod..or tymar intake..s&b is new and havent really seen or heard much on those..theres some sponsors on here that have a variety..might wanna check out beansdieselperformance...itp diesel..stealth automotive...performancetruckproducts...theres a few...ive been told to stay away from oiled filters..really dont see the problem with one if you maintain it well. But im in the same boat as well tryin to decide on an intake. You might wanna check on an EGR delete and some headstuds later down the road...common upgrade for the 6.0..as well as the sct tuner with some custom tunes..exhaust and gauges are some basics too.

Aren't the 6637 and tymar more of a 7.3 thing? I have heard all about it on 7.3's but never on a 6.0...

Personally, I don't like open air intakes. They seem to get so heat soaked while sitting. I wouldn't get anything but an enclosed...
