Cold air intake vs Stock

I have searched on here and have not found but a half a thread on this matter. I want to know is the cold air intake worth the money. I have heard that you are only supposed to run dry paper filters on these trucks. Will i gain anything from getting a cold air intake?? I am studded, deleted, 4 inch mbrp, sct, custom tunes, blue spring

Re: Cold air intake vs Stock

Back when my truck was mostly like yours I bought a cold air intake and its not worth it unless you step up to a decent sized turbo.

Re: Cold air intake vs Stock

But the stock ford intake has worse filtration than some of the intakes that u could replace it with. All I know is if u go cold air. Stay away from k&n. My truck is basically stock other than a chip and I love my 6637.

OEM 6.0 filters will outlast ANY aftermarket filters. To the tune of more than 85% better capacity so it's your money.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people my friend....those with loaded guns, and those who dig.

You dig.

Re: Cold air intake vs Stock

Oem Donaldson filter has been proven the most efficient and best filter to use for applications under 500 rwhp
But with that being said I have an Airraid CAI

, and me too. Mine came with the truck. But with that being said, if it hadn't already had the cai, I'd still be running the stock filter setup. Only real benefit for the majority of 6.0 owners is it makes the turbo a little louder under the hood.

Re: Cold air intake vs Stock

Well 75% of the men in my family have a 6.0 and for some reason my turbo is the loudest so i dont care to make it any louder, im just talking performance and effectiveness, because like i said i know a lot of other guys with 6.0's

Does that donaldson filter just go in my stock air box?

I'm not talking about tailpipe loud....I'm talking about sitting in the cab hearing I whine more. You just hear the compressor wheel spool a lot more than with stock filter. Some like it....it was cool at first, now it's just annoying when trying to hold a conversation.
