TUNER ADVICE

heres what my needs are.. I need a basic economy tune , to run with my php ficm tuning.. I need to be able to turn the speed limiter off .. capability of using it for gauges isn't important to me.. I don't know if php has the capabilities to add a similar tune into their ficm tuner .. if so I could live without the speed limiter control feature..

hypertech makes an economy tune , but I know nothing about their stuff.. any suggestion would be helpful.. I may need to use a tuner with all the bells & whistles.. that seems to be the most popular..

Re: TUNER ADVICE

SCT...done deal. Get a Econ/tow tune from any of the tuners you find around here (IDP, Gearhead, BRP, TSD, Quick Tricks to name a few.) and call it a day.

Just curious though...why do you need to remove the speed limiter on a 7,000+lb truck? These things aren't built to run 100mph up and down the highway, and neither are the offroad tires that most guys have on them.

For just a basic plug and play programmer, the SCT X4 works great. You can also get custom tunes for it from a variety of resources (including us).

Re: TUNER ADVICE

thanks , I figured I may have to run a tuner with all the canned tunes , just to get the economy tune with the options I want..

why would I NOT want to turn the speed limiter off if I could.. I hate it when a vehicle shuts down due to a limiter..

sct does seem to be the most recommended tuner.. looks like that's how i'll go..

You are obviously missing the point I was trying to make.
