Excessive white smoke from exhaust

Hi guys, I recently came back from a hunting trip from Northern B.C. I was on my way back home towing a 20' trailer with quads and gear when my 03 6.0 powerstoke lost power and stalled. There was no sign of overheating shown on my CTS monitor. I was towing it on my street tune 100 hp setting. So I tried to start the truck and it wouldn't crack over. So I kept trying and it finally started to crank but it had a real hard time. (like a dead battery) I finally got it to crack and it started and I noticed an excessive amount of white smoke from the exhaust and from under the hood. I turned off the truck and lifted the hood and noticed white smoke coming from under the turbo. I tired to start it again and it had a hard time cranking again but it started and once again a huge amount of smoke. I'm getting it towed back this Saturday. Any idea's what it might be?

I recently got my ARP headstuds done, Sinister egr delete, new oil cooler, 4" turbo back, and Sinister Cooling system, SCT X$ tuner, CTS Monitor

Sounds like your burning coolant, have you checked the level? Possibly might have a hydro lock as well since it's having a hard time turning over. I had a buddy that had cavitation in his head so bad that it would leak into his cylinder and do the same thing, that a possibility as well.

Hi JgMan, I looked at the coolent res and no sign of coolent loss and it didn't over heat when it stalled. I smelt raw diesel from the exhaust when I started it

Could have a broken injector tip that's letting fuel pour in if your smelling raw fuel.

Re: Excessive white smoke from exhaust

Would that cause all that white smoke? I'm telling you it looked like a smoke stack from a factory... Lol

Would you know if running a 100 hp tune towing a 5500 lb trailer cause this?
