6.0 4x4 or 4x2 tans?

Is there a way to tell if a 6.0 trans is from a 4x4 or a 4x2? I'm gonna be getting a trans built here soon and I have one sitting here to send so I don't have to have my truck down while it's being built. But I don't know if it's out of a 4x4 or a 4x2.

Or does it even matter?

2wd well have a different tailshaft housing and will look complete without a
t-case.

It matters but you can have either one built built. Then when you get it built stand both trannys up on the bell housing. Then pull the output section off one and swap it to the other one. I have done it.
