FASS pump help

Ive been running a FASS pump 150/180 for the last 6 months or so, just installed my spare which I got after the third failure. This is the 4th time ive had to change the pump in 6 months that is now on my truck but this time I was up in new jersey and made sure to bring all my tools and had to change it in a rest stop as the fuel pressure gauge dropped off. Is there a way to modify these pumps to make them more reliable. Had I not had one, that could have been a mess especially since I was about 1000 miles from my house. Anyone had any luck with airdog 2? ive heard some good, some bad on those.

Re: FASS pump help

jeez Sam, that fricken blows man...I just don't understand these things. I have heard good things about the AirDogII but I don't have any personal experience with them. I do know that they reuse factory fuel lines, or at least they did and they retained the HFCM, or they did. But if you combine the AirDogII with the fass components, that may work..

Re: FASS pump help

luck of the draw i guess. once i get back in town ill have to look into it a little more. just got to make it back to florida but towing on the return trip so really hoping luck dont run out on the way back. do these pumps not like to be run for an extended period like on long trips or overheat easily?

Re: FASS pump help

actually airdog 1 is a pusher pump to the factory hfcm, airdog 2 is new to the market and is a stand alone similarto the fass. youshould be able to fuel 225s with any of them as long as it will maintain 50-55 psi fuel pressure. also youll want upgraded fuel lines and crossover line to help maintain those injectors. should have another fass shortly to keep as a spare for the return trip. they do stand behind their product every time it fails...

Re: FASS pump help

just fill out the paper work that was in the box with the FASS and include a copy of the sales receipt I sent you.

Not all of these pumps are bad, some have no problems, mine has been installed for nearly 4 years now and never had any issues with it (knock on wood)
