Dually wheel upgrade question

I'm looking to upgrade my wheels/tires on my dually. What i want to do is go a little taller than stock but alot wider. I've heard tell of people pulling the bolt on spacers on front and running srw rims, any thoughts on this? I would kinda like to stick to dually fronts with maybe a 9" or 10" width with a different backspacing but i cant seem to find anything online anywhere like this. I tow a 12,000 lb excavator aroung on a regular basis so i also have to keep towability in mind. Thanks for any help y'all!

2006 F-350 CC DRW 6.0 115k miles. FICM, RevX, T-6 synthetic, Blue spring upgrade, SCT tuner, Edge CTS, egr delete, 4" straight pipe from turbo ( no cat, no muffler, BIG sound...lol ) 295/75/17 Toyo M/Ts , 2" rear spacers

I still love my truck every day....

Re: Dually wheel upgrade question

if you want anything that wide you'll probably have to go with 22.5 or 24" wheels unless you get something custom made. I've never seen anything that wide a a dually rim..I've only seen them 6" wide.

Re: Dually wheel upgrade question

I took my dually adapters/spacer off the front and put on my old 7" wide Excursion wheels on. Looks and works fine. To run something wider in the back you will probably need to use spacers between them to keep them from touching. They are pricey, but get good steel ones, like from Fred Goeske (sp?).

Re: Dually wheel upgrade question

I currently run 315s on my stock 6" wide wheels. And i have a dually. I have 3" spacers for the rear from Fred and they work fine. Ive hauled probably 14k or better with no issues this far.

Re: Dually wheel upgrade question

American force 22.5 dually wheels. You gotta buy the 10 lug conversion. Those are a lot wider wheels. They look great with 315s. My dad has some on classic american force rims.

I have the 19.5 classic american force. But those are bolt on. You don't need a 10 lug adapter. But the rims are only 7" wide.

The 22.5s are a good 2"s wider

Alcoa might even make sum rims that are deeper. You gotta search a lot.

And my dad's truck with the 22.5s doesn't even need a spacer in the rear. And he tows bobcats, and excavater buckets all the time . On my truck I could use a spacer if I towed heavier like him.

Re: Dually wheel upgrade question

The options are quite limited on wide wheels for DRW trucks. I think it's Fuel that has some at 8" wide. Most will cover the weight range needed to stay within the tow ratings.

Now Rickson Wheels will make some DRW to SRW conversion wheels that will run with the DRW bed.

You dig.

Look at eagle alloy wheels they make 20" dually wheels the rear's have a built in lock system that lock the 2 wheels together and makes the outer sit center.

Re: Dually wheel upgrade question

That's tough no doubt. I went with 285s with 2" spacers in the rear. Couldnt justly the cost of going with 22 or 19.5 wheels and tires.
