Newly installed bully dog triple dog

Hey guys, my name is Corey and I'm new to the site but have been lurking around reading a lot of info on here. A little about me: 25 years old, pretty new to the diesel scene. Always been into fast cars, but as I got older I wanted a big toy.So now I have an 04 f250 ccsb fx4, lifted on 35/12.50s, 4in turbo back straight pipe, and now i just picked up a bully dog triple dog for cheap from a close friend who runs a automotive and diesel shop. I am married with a 1 year old daughter. Ok so enough about me.

Now I have read allot of posts on here about how a bully dog is horrible for a 6.0 due to not being able to tune the tranny. After installing my bd, I do understand how it can be really hard on the tranny, especially in extreme tune. But I've been playing with tow mode and performance mode and as far as I can tell as long as you don't put your foot in it every time you take off, the bd is actually a great tuner power-wise.

I know I will catch some crap from some of you guys and that's ok. But when you're on a budget like I am and still tryin to get the most out of your truck and come acrossa good deal, you will take what you can get. With that said, when the funds allow it,I will be going to an sct with custom tuning.

Re: Newly installed bully dog triple dog

Whenever you get a sct you have to go to ford and have your PCM reflagged because the bully dog leaves "footprints" in it. If you don't do this the sct tuner will act like crap even with custom tunes.

not true. Bully Dog loads an OEM HEX file when returned to stock.

If you simply set it to stock power level and leave it loaded, yeah, you're going to have problems

The money you save with the triple dog over SCT isn't worth it. Have you priced trannies lately? And 25 yrs old and a stang or camaro pulls up and you are going to just granny it. I call BS. I'm 44 and love to smoke some young kids butt with a 8500lb truck.

Some people have to learn the hard way. If you've really been lurking here for a while, you would have know it was junk, and even that so called "deal" really wasn't a deal at all. Should have saved yourself some money. But to each his own. Just don't hop on here and bad mouth your 6.0 when it leaves you stranded, or starts doing "funny" things after you wail on it a couple times with that "silly dog" tuner installed.

Re: Newly installed bully dog triple dog

You can get a used SCT for $200 on eBay. Pair that with 3 tunes from gearhead and you at $300. Can't imagine the bully dog was a good enough deal that $300 seemed unreasonable
