Custom tune vendor issues?

So not naming any names just yet... but I ordered some tunes from one of the more popular vendors Monday morning called first thing and gave them all my info and credit card and was told "x" price and I should have the tune in 2 days...ok ...I'm happy at this point but then after checking my account balance for a unrelated purchase I see that they charged me an extra $50...not happy but hey we all make mistakes right, after calling he says oh sorry I'll take care of it...ok

Two days later I get my tune but the serial number I gave them was not the number for the tune they sent me and my account was still not fixed...he said he fixed the account and you will have a tune tomorrow morning...ok...well the next day my account is finally correct but still no tune so I call and he says yea were working on it so you should have it by the weekend...wth??? I ordered Monday morning 8am pst they are cst...now it's Thursday night and a 3 day holiday weekend.

At this point I'm getting irritated and will probably never order from them again. All I heard about them was customer service is awesome blah blah blah. Am I just being impatient? Is this normal tuner business practice? How long does it take to write a simple tune? And how long would it take to fix the serial number problem?

Am I wrong here or justified for being irritated?

Rant over

Re: Custom tune vendor issues?

I've ordered tunes from 2 different well known companies....both of which had the tunes to me by that same day's end. Maybe said vendor is just super busy?

Re: Custom tune vendor issues?

Yea I understand busy but if someone tells me "x" period of time and that does not happen it irritates me, maybe because I am a production manager and it is my job to meet time frames and due dates. If they told me 2 weeks I would have been ok with that but not following through with what you say drives me crazy!
Getting the tune with the wrong serial number was like Christmas morning with a new toy that was broken when I opened the box... Just frustrated is all, was really looking forward to getting this tune after all the rave I hear about it...

Re: Custom tune vendor issues?

We get it
just what can you do ? vent and be patient = mission accomplished

most of the tuners are a one man show when it comes time to dial in a tune
but at the end most folks forget any ordering drama when they finally load up the tune they have been waiting for and go for the first ride

now the important stuff
BBQ ;-) Happy 4th !

Re: Custom tune vendor issues?

Customer service is the most difficult part of running a business. I preach about customer service all the time, because I am a 50% owner of a construction company, and I am the one who deals with ALL of our customers. I'm sure many home owners on the forum here know how irritating it is to have a contractor say the job will take 4 weeks, and instead it takes 6, or 8 even. Sh!t happens, it doesn't matter how hard you try to account for it. we call it a cam of worms.

If the Vendor is IDP, I know they're mobbed this month, and they will make the situation 110% right for you. If it continues for 4 months then yeah, get pissed!
