CCV Mod?

Hello All,
I have a 2006 F250 with Banks Technicooler, Banks 6gun, Banks IQV2 with speedbrake, AFE intake, MBRP T-back 4 in exhaust. She is a late model 06, so she got most if not all the mods done by International, to the engine. I am looking at doing a CCV Mod, and want some advise. Rather than just porting the CCV out the bottom, what is your take on using a air compressor line dryer as a catch? I am looking at a protected bowel unit, so that's not an issue. Thanks in advance!

Re: CCV Mod?

An air dryer requires pressure to work, Your CCV does not like pressure.

Re: CCV Mod?

You can also run one of these units also. Very well made and not as pricey as the Racor. Saikou Michi Co. 2013

Re: CCV Mod?

I made mine out of 2 1/2" PVC, some hose and a brass drain valve. Total cost was less than $25. Works like a champ.

Threw my Racor together last weekend. It's a heavy duty unit. Here's a pic:

Re: CCV Mod?

That effin thing is massive!

I just bought a little $15 strainer from TSC. Used for spray rigs I think. Nothing fancy...doesn't keep ALL the oil out, but it catches the majority of it. Anything is better than nothing. I'll eventually upgrade....bottom of my to do list currently. I had it just dumped under the bed at first...couldn't take the stink any longer.

Thats a good looking install, but what is it mounted to? The angle of the pic doesn't show the mounting bracket.

Re: CCV Mod?

That's great, but what about those of us with a coolant filter? Anyone have one installed anywhere else on the truck? I had one from a company that mounted in that spot, I ended up taking it off because it didn't fit right. the hoses were kinked and starting to split. Ive never gotten around to mounting it anywhere elses.
