aftermarket cam????

Im currently in the process of having my motor rebuilt. My can needs to be replaced. And I was wondering if I should put an aftermarket can in while the motor is out. Just curious to see if anyone has some experience with how the 6.0 responds to an aftermarket can and what can would be the best choice if at all...

Re: aftermarket cam????

I'm currently installing a stage 2 colt cam in mine, from what I've gathered over the years is if your that deep in or need a new one anyways pay the little extra for it. A colt stage 1 would probably work perfect for you.

2004 6.0 ccsb Warren 430/150 hybrids, Warren Comp Trans, Warren Dual Hpop, Billet S475 w/race cover, Marty's A1000 Fuel System, Colt Stage 2, and all the other supporting stuff

Stage 1 for the win. If you are going BIG on injectors you better get some real insight quick or it's not going to work out well.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people my friend....those with loaded guns, and those who dig.

You dig.

from what I understand stock replacements is the only way to go. I may be wrong but I don't think aftermarket company's make lifters.

Re: aftermarket cam????

Put a stage one cam in. since the motor is out its easy to do. They practically have to pull the motor if they want to replace that cam anyway.

Re: aftermarket cam????

Tsd told me that you shoulld run a cam if your going to have your thottle wide open for a long period of time. Like if your towing or doing towing competions. Or if your running really big injectors. Besides that they told me its not worth it to replace the cam. They havent seen to many gains from it.
