Torque question

Hey guys,

So, as I have mentioned in past few posts, my truck is going in for a build as soon as my SCT and my edge CTS arrives (gonna order on Monday). Build will probably take place on the first week of July. I have searched this forum and the internet in general and I can't find a straight answer to my question so I have turned to the nation as it has served me well in the past.

So I understand that I will be making about 400-450ish hp... but how much torque?

Here's what the build is going to look like.

-Studded with ARP's and OEM head gaskets
-Air intake
-Ported intake manifold
-Full Exhaust
-Bullet Proof FICM
-SCT Tuner
-FICM Tuner (from Innovative Diesel)

Those are the performance item anyway. It's also deleted with all of the updates and I also gonna put a bullet proof water pump on it as well.

Stock sticks, stock turbo. So what do you think? How much torque?

Also, is there "a best place" to get my tuning from? Was thinking Thoroughbred Diesel or Innovative? I spoke to the guy from Thoroughbred, seems genuine and as though he knows his stuff, think he said EDGE cts plus SCT tuner for $730.00 or something like that?

What say you?

Re: Torque question

I would say in the neighborhood of 750ish give or take on torque that's just my guess tho.

Call back road performance and talk to Drew about some tunes, he's just starting out but his tunes are awesome.

Studded and Deleted
5 inch axle dump
Back Road Performance Tuned
Barder Stage 2
58v IDP Ficm tune

Re: Torque question

Shouldn't have a problem hitting 800 if trans is healthy.

Yea, if I understand correctly, the stock converter can handle about 750ish torque. It was suggested to me that I upgrade the converter, and I probably will but perhaps later on and not at the time of my build; all this stuff is not cheap!

I just don't think I will be running my truck on the hottest tune so I can keep my trans happy in the mean time.

Re: Torque question

My 06 f350 Harley , at the time I had an sctx4 with canned performance tune, airraid intake, straight pipe dual exhaust and atlas40 ficm tuning . My truck dynod 380/881 at the rears. It's notoriously a 10% low dyno, BD diesel. Since then I have / studs , oem gaskets , gearhead SRL+ tune. And has more than before.
