3 inch lift on stock tires?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to put a lift kit in my 06 F-240 FX4. I'm thinking about going with a 3 inch suspension lift but I don't want it to make my stock tires look too small. If I had the money for bigger tires I would get them but I'm saving for other mods. So my question is, is 3 inches too much? Should I go smaller? Also, what kits do you guys recommend? Thanks for the help

No point in a lift now. Do all your mods first and save the money until you can do tires and rims AND lift at the same time.
