Re: FICM tune on 6.0 question

IDP's run you $350 for 2 tunes (inductive heat and performance) and the tuner. I forget what PHP charges for theirs...$150 I think for 4 tunes. You'll need to either rent their tuner, or buy their Gryphon for $400, which comes with all 4 tunes. Gryphon is a converted Edge monitor, so you at least get extra monitoring with that. All claim better throttle response, increased mileage, and a bump in power.

I bought Eric's tuner a month or so ago. Been running the inductive heat file the whole time. Didn't notice much of a difference in throttle response yet, but I had a boost issue that I fixed today, so I'll be able to comment more after I drive it some this week.

Re: FICM tune on 6.0 question

Thanks for the info. Any possible issues with stock head bolts and doing the FICM tune? So these work very similar to my SCT tuner with loading then up? Please keep me posted on your results and possible gain in MPG.

Re: FICM tune on 6.0 question

I didn't notice any milage gains but it def. helps spool an upgraded turbo and should extend the life of the injectors. Faster spool produces more power and better take off also noticed my truck pulls easier when loaded down. Overall I feel like it's worth the money. The idp comes with a super hips handheld scanner that pulls code that my sct can't read like injector contribution. The other benefit to the idp ficm tuner is that you will never lose your programming, "say dealer flash" you just plug it in and reload over and over hope this helps. Btw when you combine this with the raped ape tune from drew you better be pointed the direction you want to go when the right pedal goes down lol
