Talking turbo seal leaking...

hey guys new to the aftermarket world of trucks for the most part, was wondering what you all would recommend for a 06 6.0, i want to reseal the turbo maybe upgrade it but not to the point where i need a tune(i am going to buy fuel system, different turbo, studs etc down the road) right now i just want to solve my smoking problem while making my turbo have a lil more kick, what are your recommendations? thanks in advance

Smoking problem? If you are smoking out the tailpipe with a bone stock truck then you have other issues.

Beans sump to the stock pump

Tuned by several...depends on my mood for the day.

Re: turbo seal leaking...

If your turbo seal is slightly leaking it will usually represent at initial takeoff you will see a slight puff a light blue/grey smoke out the tail pipe that clear up after a few seconds (unless your turbo is completely blown)

If you are seeing a slight puff of black smoke then it is probably something else... either something is wrong with the truck or you are running some sort of tune that smoke slightly.

If your turbo seal is leaking there is a slight chance that rebuilding it will not help. It will all depend on the condition of your turbine wheel shaft and the condition of the piston seal ring area in the bearing housing.

haha believe me i have already checked out the truck, i work on these for a living, and to peixinho i have checked shaft clearances and i am confident the housing is ok, but thanks for looking out, i decided to get a billet wheel and reseal kit
