BD Exhaust Manifold anyone?

Hey guys,

Have any of you guys installed these on your rigs? They look great, and at $500, very reasonable.

BD Power - Product: Ford 6.0L Exhaust Manifolds

From a visual stand point, they look like they would flow better than the stock units; they seem comparable to the ones HolderdownPerformance sell but at half the pice. Plus they just look a lot better.

Anyone?

Cheers

To me they don't look a whole lot different than the OEM manifolds. Now Steed Speed's manifolds on the other hand........

WOW! Went and looked at the Steed Speed manifold.... what a beauty! If I just had more money than sense.... I might even buy an extra pair just to set on the coffee table for decoration or a conversation piece.

Re: BD Exhaust Manifold anyone?

Yea, I agree, the Steed Speed manifolds are beautiful. But I have read on another forum that they don't provide that ideal mix of improved flow and egt drop with the right amount of restriction that you would want from a diesel manifold (I am paraphrasing here). As a result, I read that the gains are in the mid to high range with the steed speed manifolds and great for significantly modified 6.0's (larger injectors, turbo, etc.).

Then again, I also read that they were going to get redesigned to provide better low end and never heard the end of it. This doesn't mean that they haven't... just means that I haven't read about any follow-ups.

BTW, anyone ever had problems with the stock manifolds such as leaking/warping? I haven't heard of any... mine look like they have seen better days (rusty, etc). I am going to be doing a build on my truck (studding etc.) and was thinking these could be preventative.

Thoughts...

Re: BD Exhaust Manifold anyone?

I just ordered steeds for my truck, the research I did showed a 50hp gain and a lot better throttle response when accompanied with a stage 3 ported intake (highly suggested) I can't give you any results yet but I should have it slapped together in the next 2months

Re: BD Exhaust Manifold anyone?

I hear ya 2D, I am getting a stage 2 ported intake manifold myself from Windrunner (I am guessing yours is a windrunner too)

Sweet set up, what kind of numbers are you putting down?

I am not going that far with my set up, studs, sct, exhaust, intake manifold, and a good chance I might me getting the above mentions BD exhaust manifolds too. Bullet Proof FICM,water pump, already deleted.
