fuel system upgrades

Ok yall need some opinions. today my 06 started run ruff and then finally quit running. After 5 mins in still wouldn't refire. After having the truck towed home she fired up but was running very very rough. I am thinking fuel pump. Truck has 116,000 on it. Rather than just putting the stock back in I am think about an air dog 150, regulated return, and a sump pickup. Work appreciate your input and advice on this. What is the difficult on this type of install.

Re: fuel system upgrades

Sounds like a solid system, do not let anybody talk you into the air dog 2 tho...what you plan on doing will work perfectly fine and will be reliable.

I don't know a lot about the Air dog units other than the horror stories I have heard of about the Air dog 2. I think most folks use the 150 as a lift pump for the stock unit. The stock unit is really not that bad. There is a good write up on the ORG about plumbing in a 6.4 lift pump in front of the stock unit, many folks have been doing it and have been having good results.

Re: fuel system upgrades

Highly suggest you take him up on the 6.4 pump. I have a AD2 but I'm always waiting for it to fail and because of that I carry a complete spare.
